The Association for Experiential Education defines experiential learning as a “methodology in which educators purposefully engage with students in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, and clarify values.”
The SA tradition of experiential learning manifests in our Downtown location where students regularly work throughout the community on real-world problems. Teachers make learning applicable to the challenges students work collaboratively to solve. This is how students become contributors to the community and creators of a portfolio of “real work” that shows the full capacity and quality of their abilities.
