SA Summer Camp 2024 registration is open! 

Summer camp will be offered for students in rising 1st through rising 8th. 

Summer opportunities for our rising 4K and rising Kindergarten students will be available soon!

 
5 weeks of programming will be offered: 
June 10-14, June 17-21, June 24-28, July 8-12, and July 15-19


Camp hours are 8:30 a.m. (with option to drop off as early as 8 a.m.) to 12:00 pm. for themed morning programming with an option to add an Extended Day package until 5:30 p.m. for students in rising 1st-6th. Extended Day includes lunchtime, games, recess, teambuilding activities, and experiential fun.


Cost of morning programming is $150 per week for most themed camps (8:30 a.m. - 12:00 pm.). Extended Day (until 5:30 p.m.) for the entire week can be added for an additional $75 per week. $50 deposit is due at the time of registration with the remaining balance due at the start of the camp week.


Morning themes are broken into appropriate age groups and will offer exciting focuses such as Comic Book Creation, Healthy Eating, Red Cross Babysitting, arts and crafts, dance, robotics, theatre, and more! See below for camp descriptions.

Week of June 10

Cheer Camp for rising 4th-8th, lead instructor Georgie Deaton

Come join us as we show off our school spirit by cheering on our Jaguars with a dance and a few cheers. As always, GO JAGS!

 

Arts and Crafts Camp for rising 1st-3rd, lead instructor Abby Skibstead

Let's get crafty! In this colorful, hands-on camp, campers will learn new skills and tricks while making creative crafts.

 

Teaching Little Fingers to Play for rising 2nd-4th, lead instructor Mrs. Jana Thomas 

Dive into the wonderful world of music! In this week-long camp, students are invited to dive deep into the wonderful world of piano! Students will have the opportunity to experience the piano in a fun and action-filled way.  Students will be introduced to basic rhythm and music note reading skills.  

 

Robotics Camp for grades 4th-8th, led by Brick Ed instructors

Calling all future programmers! This camp is great for those students looking to build and code a variety of robots from different platforms. Students will collaborate and problem solve through challenge tasks and even compete against other groups in the camp.

 

STEAM Camp for grades 1st-3rd, led by Brick Ed instructors

This variety camp offers experiences in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the world around them through experiments and other hands-on learning experiences.

 

Soccer Shots for grades 1st-3rd, led by Soccer Shots coaches

Soccer Shots' Premier Program teaches more mature soccer skills and concepts at a faster rate through more complex game play. Each practice will end with a fun scrimmage! Note: this camp has a 9 a.m. start time. Click here for Soccer Shots registration link!

 

Animal Camp for 1st-3rd, lead instructor Hayley Morgan

Throughout the week campers will learn about animals found all around our world. We will explore the sea, the desert, the safari, the rainforest, and our own backyard to find the animals living in each!


Week of June 17

Dance Camp for grades 4th-8th, lead instructor Georgie Deaton

Come show off your smooth moves at dance camp this summer! We will learn a fun dance that goes along with a fun song!

 

Recyclables Art for grades 1st-3rd, lead instructor Destiny West

This week-long Recyclable Art Camp Workshop combines creativity, environmental consciousness, and the use of recyclables and found objects in art. This workshop not only focuses on the creation of art but also incorporates the crafting of paper and paper mache clay, adding an extra layer of hands-on engagement. Participants will explore the art of recycling, create their own paper, and transform found objects into meaningful works of art.

This variety camp offers experiences in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the world around them through experiments and other hands-on learning experiences.

 

Music Camp for grades 1st-3rd, lead instructor Sandra Honbarger

In this delightful camp, campers will make magnificent music through singing, dancing, playing instruments, and even making our own instruments!

Jewelry Making Camp for grades 1st-3rd, lead instructor Shannon Ellsworth

Campers will discover the art of making their very own jewelry! We will focus on a variety of techniques to complete pieces including charms, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and pendants. Get ready to have an amazing time learning skills to design your own fashionable pieces. 

 

Playground Players for grades 4th-8th, lead instructor Abby Skibstead

Theatre lovers, this camp is for you! Explore the art of stage performance and acting in this action-packed camp where you'll have opportunities to grow as a performer and show off your talents.


Week of June 24

Arts and Crafts Camp for grades 1st-3rd, lead instructor Georgie Deaton

Come explore your creativity and uniqueness by doing fun crafts. These crafts include bracelet making, painting, tie dying and much more! 

 

Comic Book Creation for grades 4th-8th, lead instructor Destiny West

This week-long art camp is offering students the opportunity to explore the exciting world of comic books. This workshop encourages creativity, storytelling, and artistic expression by guiding students in designing their own comic books. Throughout the week, students will create characters, develop storylines, and bring their narratives to life with colorful illustrations, turning their ideas into captivating comics.

 

Engineering Camp for grades 4th-8th, led by Brick Ed instructors

During this week of camp students will enter in the role of civil, electrical, chemical, and aeronautical engineering. All activities will empower the students to become excited about the engineering field and using their hands to invent and build a better tomorrow! 

 

Healthy Eating Camp for grades 1st-3rd, lead instructor Sandra Honbarger

We will learn all about different kinds of foods and how they affect our bodies and learn how to make good food choices. In this tasty week of discovery, campers will taste lots of different foods and make some simple and fun recipes. 

 

Princess Camp for grades 1st-3rd, lead instructor Lucy Burks

During this camp, every single day we will focus on a single Disney princess, such as Moana or Mulan. They will learn about their many different cultures and their stories through many different fun and engaging activities! We will also participate in many different and fun art projects. At the end of the week, we will have a fun Disney day where the kids can come to camp dressed up as any Disney character, and they will also get to watch a fireworks show from one of the Disney parks!


Week of July 8

Red Cross Babysitting Camp for grades 5th-8th, lead instructor Dakota Raney

Calling all babysitters, both new and experienced! In this camp, we will complete all requirements to become certified in babysitting by the Red Cross. Just in time to make some babysitting bank this summer! Babysitter training at Salisbury Academy Summer Camp is designed to help you gain the skills and confidence needed to become a trusted caregiver for children of all ages – from infants to tweens.

 

Art Around the World for grades 4th-8th, lead instructor Destiny West

This week-long art camp called is designed to take kids on a creative journey exploring the art and culture of various countries. Over the course of five days, students will delve into the rich artistic traditions of different cultures, creating their own artworks inspired by these traditions. Each day will offer an immersive and educational experience in the world of international art.

Japanese Culture Camp for grades 1st-3rd, lead instructor Abby Skibstead

Are you curious about other cultures and places in the world? Spend a week immersed in learning about Japan and its people, stories, food, language, art, and more! 


Week of July 15

Collage Art for grades 1st-3rd, lead instructor Destiny West

The Collage Art Workshop invites participants to explore the world of collage as a versatile and creative medium. Collage art is a fantastic way to combine various materials, colors, and textures to create unique and visually compelling artworks.

World Traveler Camp for grades 4th-8th, lead instructor Hayley Morgan

Fasten your seatbelts and enjoy the flight! We are traveling around to 5 different countries this week. Adventure awaits us in England, Italy, Africa, Australia, and the United States. Join us to learn about cultures and food from each of these as we explore our amazing world!

From the Ground Up for grades 4th-8th, lead instructor Kelli Isenhour

Everything in nature works together. This camp takes a closer look at a Piedmont ecosystem – from the ground up. We’ll get our hands dirty as we learn about soils and composting. On day two, we will learn about the plants that feed us and plant some vegetables to take home. Pollinators play an important role in food production, but also in the food web. We will learn about butterflies, bees, and how native plants help with their survival. Nothing survives without water! On this day we might get a little wet, as we focus on water conservation and water quality in our streams and rivers. Finally, we will learn about some vertebrate animals that play a big role in maintaining our natural environments.
